General Anthony Charles Zinni Had it Right

Yesterday, I received a massive number of troll ratings for a factual post regarding U.S. motives for invading Iraq.  Besides working to defend the neo-conservatives and conservative views on a Democratic site, the HR's were completely abusive and against the guidelines.

Any discussion of Israel's protection as a motivating factor (to whatever degree) for our invasion of Iraq is verboten on the Daily Kos.  I simply quoted General George Zinni (see below)and this factual post was hidden by a number of abusive HR's.  I then stated to receive HR's on an unrelated personal diary posted a day earlier.

Is this how the Daily Kos works?  Is this what is supposed to make up a reality based community?  What if the trolls rule with gangland HR's to suppress discussion?

What can you do about it?

Anthony Charles Zinni (born September 17, 1943) is a retired four-star General in the United States Marine Corps and a former Commander in Chief of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). In 2002, he was selected to be a special envoy for the United States to Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Zinni is talking about a group of policymakers within the administration known as "the neo-conservatives" who saw the invasion of Iraq as a way to stabilize American interests in the region and strengthen the position of Israel. They include Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz; Undersecretary of Defense Douglas Feith; Former Defense Policy Board member Richard Perle; National Security Council member Eliot Abrams; and Vice President Cheney's chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

Zinni believes they are political ideologues who have hijacked American policy in Iraq.

“I think it's the worst kept secret in Washington. That everybody - everybody I talk to in Washington has known and fully knows what their agenda was and what they were trying to do,” says Zinni.

“And one article, because I mentioned the neo-conservatives who describe themselves as neo-conservatives, I was called anti-Semitic. I mean, you know, unbelievable that that's the kind of personal attacks that are run when you criticize a strategy and those who propose it. I certainly didn't criticize who they were. I certainly don't know what their ethnic religious backgrounds are. And I'm not interested.”

If you are a trusted user, maybe you want to visit this diary and rec it up.  I was clarifying a conversation with honest reality based points that were hidden out of pure spite.

This the post that was HR'd out of existence is a direct quote from CBS "60 minutes" while interviewing 4-star general Anthony Zinni.

This was HR'd by people who want to suppress the discussion of reality.  It is not OK to say this on the Daily Kos.

If you disagree with the suppression of free speech and you are a trusted user, please uprate the comments at the following diary.

There is also an interesting migration of HR's on a separate discussion on my own personal diary from 2 days ago.  After 2 days someone made a post on it and I responded.  Now that post is also hidden, though it has only factual information in it. This is blatant suppression of information.  It is censorship to the "T".

If you value the mores of free speech, please uprate these comments and write Meteor Blades at this email to protest this blatant suppression of free speech on the Daily Kos.
